I'd locked myself in my bathroom, telling Grey I was going to take a bath since I felt better. The longer I lingered, the more nervous I got. He wasn't going to leave. We'd share a bed again, and I didn't know what the hell I was going to do. I knew what I wanted, what every piece of me demanded, but fear was stealing my sense. My attention went to the mirror, took in my swollen lips and they felt sore from his kisses he made sure he gave me all evening. I was fine if he was touching me, holding me close to his side while we watched whatever movie I chose. I couldn't even remember what it was. Every time he drew circles on my bare thigh, I couldn't help to start shaking.

Without him distracting me, what the hell was I going to do? I'd kissed him. Stroked his thick cock. He'd seen how needy I was. There was no hesitation on his part, and he’d pushed into my touch. He said he wanted to love on me, and those were the words I’ve dreamed of hearing for years. When he’d pressed his mouth to mine, it had seemed like the most natural thing. What the hell was I going to do if he regretted it? Because my inner cynic started its meltdown. Yet I’d hid it well, or at least I hoped I had.

My biggest fear threatened to become reality. I wasn't feeling sick, and everything I'd ignored hit me. His truck in my driveway for a day and two nights. The delivery boy—I'd seen the shock on his face when Grey came up behind me as I took the food. Hell, I barely tasted dinner. This new Grey had fed me every bite and dessert, too, all while tucked between my shaking thighs.

I opened the door in nothing but a towel and found him already in the bed. The sheet and quilt were neatly turned down to the foot of the bed. I swallowed hard and started for my dresser to get a pair of pajama pants.

"We both know you sleep naked. Drop the towel and get into bed." The command in his voice turned me into a damn puddle, and where the hell had that tone come from? It was as if he'd perfected the Daddy voice without trying. That wasn't my quiet and polite friend. I listened to the shifting of his body on the mattress and turned my head.

"What are you doing?" My voice cracked as I found him naked, and he patted the spot beside him.

The corners of his mouth twitched. "Figured if I was naked, you'd be more—"

"Well, it's not helping."

"Come on, baby, get into bed. You need rest. And you might not believe this, but I want to hold you. You know you're safe with me, right?"

I nodded, emotionally he could devastate me, but his physical presence was always comforting and safe.
